Residing in their home in Macon, Georgia, Jennifer and her family have lived in this house for approximately 6 years. Her style is as a mixture of vintage and shabby cottage. "My home is very eclectic. Not every room is the same. It's a mixture of my personality and the styles that I love most", says Jennifer. Her living room is more formal and is best described as Victorian English cottage, the dining room is shabby elegant, and romantic, and her kitchen is vintage cottage with a touch of whimsy. And while her master bedroom is more girlie and showcases her love for Shabby Chic and vintage collectibles, her daughter's nursery is vintage cottage and contains the most vintage collectibles and artwork pieces from her close friends and various artists.

Of all her beautifully decorated rooms, Jennifer's dining room is her very favorite, decorated in soft shades of lavender, pink and aqua. "This room gets the most natural light, and on a sunny day this room is radiant" says Jennifer. During the day, the crystal prisims shine and everything looks naturally soft and pretty, but at night when the chandelier is on a low setting, the room literally glows and oozes romance. During the holidays at Christmas, Jennifer turns this room into the "Sugar Plum Fairy" room, where everything is decorated in a theme of sugary confection sweets. The room has a heavily adorned white Christmas tree, glittered Cody Foster homes, Howard Holt angels, and sweet kitchy reindeers. "I'm always sad to see Christmas Day come to an end" says Jennifer, "because I love my dining room during the holidays"!

Jennifer often gives her flea market finds a makeover with a coat of paint before she uses them in her home. "It's amazing what paint can do for a "blah" object that you find at a Flea Market" says Jennifer. "I'll spray paint it with a soft creamy white shade or pale pink and embellish with lace, ribbon, floral trims and turn it into a gorgeous decorative piece for my home". Jennifer also recommends a clever little trick for changing the look of a seat cushion temporarily, without the hassle of sewing. Simply take a piece of fabric or a king size pillow case and tuck in the sides all away around the chair. Then throw a pillow on the chair and you have a new look, and it's super easy!

Jennifer gets her decorating influence the most from Rachel Ashwell {or the "Queen of Shabby Chic" as Jennifer refers to her}. Bright and early on Saturday mornings, you can find Jennifer at Smiley's Flea Market, scouting for treasures. There are also several antique shops close to her home that she enjoys attending. One of Jennifer's all time favorite places to go is a huge antique mall called "Big Peach", where there are hundreds of dealers to shop from. She's become great friends with the owner and they are always on the lookout for certain things that Jennifer loves to collect and buy.

What's on Jennifer's list of things to look for right now? Beautiful vintage rhinestone jewelry. Her favorite is Aurora Borealis AB crystal. She also looks for gorgeous vintage perfume bottles, feathered fans, sleep jackets/lace peignoirs, and Marcie dolls. Jennifer collects and uses fun kitchy figurines for her artwork and in her home. She also adores adorable baby planters, salt and pepper shakers, and Howard Holt figurines.

You can visit Jennifer at her blog, and she sells her artwork on Etsy. She is also going to be featured in the upcoming Summer 09 issue of Romantic Country magazine.
