If Rosemary's home looks familiar to you, that's because I featured her home in September of 2006. And when I found out what a Halloween decorating enthusiast she was, I knew I would have to revisit her home once again to feature her awesome vintage Halloween collection this year.
For Rosemary, her passion for collecting vintage Halloween items goes all the way back to the October 1992 issue of Country Living magazine, and yes, she still has the issue. She was so inpired by one of the couples featured that decorated with vintage Halloween items, that Rosemary took it upon herself to write to the magazine find out more about these people and their collection, and that's how it all began.
Rosemary's first find was her paper mache jack-o-lantern, and to this day remains one of her very favorite finds. Being an enthusiastic collector of all things Halloween Vintage, she now has over 100 pieces in her collection. It all comes out during the last weekend of September, and then it all comes down on November 1st.
Rosemary's most unique find was a book called "Games for Halloween" dating back to 1912. And her most expensive find was her paper mache jack-o-lantern for $60. She continually searches antique stores, flea markets, and yard sales all year long to keep her collection growing.
So what will you find Rosemary doing on October 31st ? Watching spooky movies, lighting candles, and handing out candy. Afterall, it's her favorite holiday! -JG
